Financial Remedy Court

The President of the Family Division has put forward proposals to introduce a Court purely to deal with financial remedy matters, a Financial Remedy Court (FRC). He reported his ‘core ambition for financial remedy work is to improve significantly both the application of procedural justice and the delivery of substantive justice’. The President is of the view that to appoint specialist Family Law Judges to the FRC will improve procedure. There will be a process of early allocation of a case to the right judge at the right level at the right place in addition to the ensuring that FDRs ( hearing where the majority of cases settle) are conducted with consistency, with sufficient time being allowed for matters to be dealt with appropriately.

The FRC is currently being piloted.
