This Saturday 21 June, Jason Loryman, partner of our secretary Julie Vanner, is undertaking a sponsored climb of Ben Nevis in Scotland on behalf of Ehlers-Danlos Support UK. EDS Support UK offer free support and literature to sufferers of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a rare connective tissue disorder, of which Julie suffers. Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is multisystem condition thought to be caused by a genetic flaw in the connective tissues resulting in joint and tissue problems. It is often missed for many years by medical professionals, thus making support and information offered to sufferers invaluable.
The climb is being undertaken with Jason by several friends and family and is expected to take approximately ten hours to complete. Unfortunately, Julie will not be well enough to participate in the climb but we understand she is currently looking at Spas near Ben Nevis in order to keep herself occupied while they undertake their ascent!
