Charlotte Copeman

Professional 

Charlotte graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2025 obtaining an Upper Second Class Degree in Law. She is now busy studying for the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations and gaining her work experience to qualify as a Solicitor in 2027.

Charlotte’s interest in family law developed during her university years when she volunteered at a local contact centre supporting children to spend time with a parent who has left the family home. Charlotte witnessed first-hand the emotional impact on parents and children of the breakdown of the family. Charlotte also worked as an independent advocate supporting vulnerable adults in gaining support from local authorities. Volunteering has taught Charlotte the importance of listening, clear communication, patience and understanding, all key skills for a successful family lawyer.

After gaining work experience in various specialisms, Charlotte was drawn back to family law because of the significant impact it has on individual and family lives, as well as the diversity of work involved, where no two cases are the same. Charlotte has become a valuable part of the Townsend Family Law Team assisting Marion, Abbie and Poppy.

Personal

In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys music and she plays the guitar. Reading, travelling and going to the theatre are favourite past times as well as spending time with her family, friends and pet pooch Maggie, a terrier cross.
